Old MacDonald Had a Farm – Nursery Rhyme Fun!
Last week, our classroom turned into a bustling farmyard as we explored the classic nursery rhyme Old MacDonald Had a Farm! The children helped decorate a farmhouse and farm animals, then planted real grass seed to grow in front of our little farm scene. Our farm setup sparked plenty of imaginative play – feeding animals, singing songs, and creating their own farm stories!
In maths, we went on a fun animal hunt around the classroom, finding and counting farm animals hiding in different spots. We also read Mrs. Wishy-Washy and had some messy fun talking about muddy animals and soapy tubs!
To top it all off, we made our very own butter – shaking cream in jars and using the Thermomix! The children loved watching (and tasting!) the transformation.
A fun-filled week of hands-on learning and laughter!
