As we wrap up another busy term at Forest Primary School, I want to take a moment to celebrate all the wonderful things we've achieved together. This term has been packed with activities, learning, and fun.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Term 2 “JAM” Celebration of Learning Assembly today. Your presence made the event special, and it was wonderful to come together as a community to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible achievements of our students. Word Recognition & Fluency Programs

Academically, our students are doing incredibly well especially with our word recognition and fluency programs that have supported students to improve their reading skills. We have received lots of positive feedback from teachers and parents and it's clear that our students and staff are committed to learning and growing.

I want to say a big thank you to our dedicated teachers and staff. Your hard work and passion for teaching make a huge difference. To our parents and carers, your support and involvement in school activities are so important. Together, we create a caring and inspiring environment for our children.

A special shoutout to our wonderful P&F for organising a very successful trivia night that was held here last weekend. It was a wonderful evening fuelled of laughter and challenging questions. I would like to acknowledge the contribution of Kim Kay & Margaret Ollington who ensured that our trivia event ran smoothly as our number 1 markers, Kelly Chatwin as our runner and Miss Pop for ensuring that our night ran as smoothly as it did. SO many of our parents and friends’ community made this night successful and I thank each and every one of you and our school community for supporting the event.  Our students are very lucky!!!

Silent Disco by Kombi Krew

Thank you to the Student Council who organised an epic Silent Disco for all the students today. Everyone had so much fun and danced and sang their hearts out. A big thank you to Leah from Kombi Krew for travelling all the way from Hobart to get the party started. We really appreciate it. 

Crazy Hair Day

Crazy Hair Day was a fantastic success, and our school looked more colourful and creative than ever! Students and teachers alike showed off their wild hairstyles, from funky spikes to vibrant colours and everything in between! We celebrated creativity and self-expression, and it was wonderful to see all those amazing hairdos! It was a day to remember!

Forest Fever Netball

On Friday 20^th June a dedicated group of netballers from Grade 5/6, and their support crew, headed off to Ulverstone to represent Forest Primary and compete in the Primary Netball Championships.

The team played their hearts out all day, showing teamwork, persistence and sportsmanship. They only just missed out on playing in the final.

Their commitment to training every Friday lunch time was also commendable.

Thanks to Danielle, Miss Pop, Bianca and Mike Fletcher for training and coaching. Thank you to Lynne van Norden for umpiring on the day, Susan Bakes for scoring and CHAC for supporting the team with the transportation.

They played so well that there was even a celebratory ice cream at Maccas. Go Forest Fever – can’t wait until next year.

Spice Kids - Eisteddfod 

We are known as the Spice Kids!!

On Wednesday 25^th June a very excited Spice Kids choir made their way to Burnie to compete in the Eisteddfod for the very first time. The Spice Kids consists of 47 students from Prep – Grade 6.

For some of these students this was the first time that they had ever performed on the big stage and under a huge spotlight, but they all took it in their stride.

Their performance was amazing, bringing energy and colour to the room. The Spice Kids walked away with a Highly Commended which is amazing.

Every students’ behaviour on the day was spot on and they did Forest Primary very proud. Thanks to all of them for making the commitment and giving up their lunch time every Thursday to practice.

Big thanks to Annette for all you do to encourage the love of singing and performing. I think she might have had a few tears in her eyes!

Thanks to Mrs Geneveve Thorp for making our amazing fish props as well.

1/2 Excursion

Tomorrow our 1/2 students will be on excursion to the Blue Hills Honey Farm and Dip Falls, to complement their Science learning this term. Students will take part in a guided tour along with honey tasting before enjoying a simple set lunch menu. After their Honey Farm visit, students will then visit the Dip Falls before returning to school.

As we look forward to the next term, let's keep building on our successes and aim for even greater achievements. I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved break, spends quality time with family and friends, and comes back refreshed and ready for more exciting challenges in Term 3.
