School Pickup and Dropoff
We’d like parents to be aware of a few concerns relating to school traffic. The morning school drop off can be done through the turning circle. If you are dropping off or picking up children from the other side of the road, could parents please walk children over to school using the school crossing. Similarly, at the end of the day, we would appreciate parents using the designated crossing. Walking across near the Kinder poses a danger, with a dip in the road limiting sight for drivers and pedestrians.
Also, cars should not park on the grass outside the Kinder, as this causes limited vision for drivers and buses pulling out from the school.
School Association
Our next School Association meeting will be held on Thursday 23rd September, starting at 3.30pm.
All parents of the school community are a member of the School Association and welcome to attend meetings alongside committee members.
Term 4 Grade 6 Hobart Camp

Father’s Day Breakfast
A huge thanks to all our dads attending the Father’s Day Breakfast at school. The kids all absolutely adore having you rock up to school for a snag and bacon, a look around their classroom or kick of the footy. Spice Kids presented a lovely performance for the audience. Dads are always welcome to stop in at school, kick the footy at lunch or help in the classroom! Thanks also to our Forest staff, getting here early to prepare for the breakfast.
End of Term Assembly
We shall be holding an End of Term assembly on Tuesday 21st September, starting at 1.30pm. Family members are welcome to attend, we ask that people sign in at the office using the Tas Check in App and visitors book.

2021 School Surveys
Each year the Department of Education conducts School Satisfaction Surveys in Tasmanian Government schools, to gain feedback on what you think our schools do well and where you think we may improve.
We encourage you to complete the survey about Forest Primary School. Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school planning and decision-making.
You can complete the online survey at any time until Friday 17 September 2021. Survey link: https://ncv.microsoft.com/ZqXQ3KGa66
All responses are anonymous and confidential with the survey carried out on a secure website.
Feedback is only accessible to the school principal and teachers and relevant Department of Education staff.
This term we have had a big focus on learning about money. We have been learning to recognise different Australian coins and notes and count collections of coins. We have also looked at how we can use different combinations of coins to make a particular amount.

We have also been busy writing narratives and practising our spelling words.

Bravehearts
On Tuesday 24th we had a visit from Bravehearts who ran a programme about staying safe for Kinder to grade 2 students. We learned about the feelings we might have if we are feeling safe or unsafe. This links to some of the work we have been doing about the Zones of Regulation and identifying different feelings and emotions.

Smithton High School Visit
On Wednesday afternoon, we had a visit from Mrs. Watts and a group of high school students. They came along to visit and talk with us about the transition to high school. During their time with us, we completed a few different team-building activities and had the opportunity to ask them some questions. Students in 5/6C had a great time participating in the activities and having their questions answered. Here are some photos of the newspaper challenge that students had to complete in groups. Their task was to design and create an outfit for one member of their group. We want to say a big thank you to our visitors for an enjoyable afternoon!
